White paper: China has become the world's largest new photovoltaic market for 8 consecutive years

China News Agency, Beijing, October 27 (reporter Liu Yuying, Ruan Yulin) - the white paper on China's policies and actions to deal with climate change published on the 27th said that China's new energy industry is booming, the production and sales scale of new energy vehicles has ranked first in the world for six consecutive years, and has become the world's largest new photovoltaic market for eight consecutive years.

According to the white paper, the new energy vehicle industry is entering a new stage of accelerated development. The scale of production and sales of new energy vehicles in China has ranked first in the world for six consecutive years. By June 2021, the number of new energy vehicles had reached 6.03 million.

The manufacturing of wind power and photovoltaic power generation equipment in China has formed the most complete industrial chain in the world. The technical level and manufacturing scale rank among the top in the world. The new energy storage industrial chain is becoming more and more perfect, and the diversified development of technical routes provides an important guarantee for the global clean and low-carbon transformation of energy.

By the end of 2020, China's polysilicon, photovoltaic cells, photovoltaic modules and other products accounted for the largest share of the world's total output, and became the world's largest new photovoltaic market for eight consecutive years; Photovoltaic products have been exported to more than 200 countries and regions, reducing the use cost of global clean energy; The installed capacity of new energy storage is about 3.3 million KW, ranking first in the world.

According to the white paper, according to preliminary accounting, the proportion of non fossil energy in China's total energy consumption will increase to 15.9% in 2020, a significant increase of 8.5 percentage points over 2005.

In 2020, the total installed capacity of non fossil energy power generation in China will reach 980 million KW, accounting for 44.7% of the total installed capacity. Among them, the installed capacity of wind power, photovoltaic, hydropower, biomass power generation and nuclear power will reach 280 million KW, 250 million KW, 370 million KW, 29.52 million KW and 49.89 million KW respectively. The installed capacity of photovoltaic and wind power has increased by more than 3000 times and 200 times respectively compared with 2005. (end)
