2GW modules sought! Power Corporation of India SJVN Tender

A few days ago, SJVN Green Energy, a subsidiary of India's state-owned power utility SJVN, launched a tender seeking the supply of nearly 2GWp of photovoltaic (PV) modules for a number of projects in India.

The tender documents do not list the locations of these four projects. Three of the projects (two with a capacity of 700MWp and one with a capacity of 280MWp) are with power utilities in the northern state of Punjab.

The last project is with APDCL Assam, a power utility in eastern Assam, with a capacity of 280MWp.

A maximum of 700MW of capacity will be available to a single bidder, who must have a track record of delivering 30MW or more of modules in the last seven years.

The deadline for submitting bid applications is set for March 5, 2024, with March 11 as the deadline for submitting hard copies of documents. Once the contract is signed, the winning bidder will have 180 days to deliver the modules.

With its latest tender, SJVN Green Energy will continue to increase its procurement of solar modules to build projects across India.

Recently, SJVN Green Energy signed a 550 MW PV module supply agreement with Chinese solar manufacturer GCL Integration. The modules will be used in two solar projects in Gujarat and Maharashtra.1.1 GW after signing another 550MW module supply agreement!

This is not the first supply agreement signed by GCLCL this year. As early as early January, GCLCL signed a 1.1GW PV module supply agreement with NTPC Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of NTPC, an Indian power company, which is the largest module supply agreement signed by the power company with a single supplier. GCL Integration signed an order for 1.1 GW of modules!
