500MW! Chinese firms sign up for PV projects in Algeria
On March 14, the signing ceremony for a package of photovoltaic power plant projects in Algeria was held in the capital city of Algiers, and China Construction Algeria signed two of the projects.
The first project contracted by China Construction Algeria is located in Meguier Province, with an installed capacity of 200MW and an area of 400 hectares.
The other project is located in Ouad Province, signed by China Construction and Algerian Renewable Energy Company (SHAEMS), with an installed capacity of 300MW and an area of 600 hectares.
It is reported that the contract of 300MW PV power plant project in Wadi province includes PV power plant design, civil engineering, supply, transportation, installation, training, commissioning, commissioning and grid-connection works.
Mohamed Alkab, Minister of Energy and Mines of Algeria, said that the construction of photovoltaic power plants is an important step towards a secure energy future in Algeria, and that they will meet the growing demand for electricity and contribute to the energy transition in a clean and sustainable way, as well as create a large number of employment opportunities and bring in advanced technologies in the field of clean energy.
According to Zhou Yongfeng, Deputy Chief Engineer of CCA Algeria, winning from the competition with enterprises from various countries and successfully signing the two photovoltaic power plant projects reflects the recognition of the Albanian side to CCA Algeria's ability and highlights the company's competitiveness and credibility in the international market.
These two projects will become an important achievement of Sino-Algerian energy cooperation, helping Algeria to enhance its renewable energy capacity and realize the goal of energy transformation.
