It is of great significance for Indonesia to develop clean energy and realize energy transition
Located in Karawang Industrial Park, Bukit Indah, West Java, Indonesia, Karawang PV Project covers an area of about 80 hectares and is the largest land-based PV project with installed capacity in Indonesia. Hubei Engineering Company, a subsidiary of CEC, is responsible for the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of the project's photovoltaic area.
During the construction of the project, thousands of jobs were provided for the neighboring areas, which made an important contribution to promoting the employment of local residents, and was supported and praised by all levels of government in Karawang region.
After the project is completed and put into operation, it will provide more than 146,000 MWh of green electricity per year, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 114,700 tons and save 58,430 tons of standard coal. Calculated on the basis of an average annual electricity consumption of 1,300 kWh per household, the energy produced will be sufficient to supply 112,000 households with electricity for one year, which is of great significance to the development of clean energy, reduction of energy costs, realization of energy transformation, and improvement of people's livelihood in Indonesia.
