1.5 million kilowatts!
China's single largest affordable offshore wind project with full capacity grid connection
On October 26th, the State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) Shandong Peninsula South Sea Wind Power Base U1 Site Phase II 450 MW project was successfully connected to the grid, marking China's single largest affordable offshore wind power project - Shandong Peninsula South U Site offshore wind power project to achieve full capacity and grid connection.
Project Introduction
Shandong Peninsula South U site offshore wind power project has a total installed capacity of 1.5 million kilowatts, of which 900,000 kilowatts of U1 site invested and constructed by Shandong Energy of State Power Investment, and 600,000 kilowatts of U2 site invested and constructed by State Energy Group, which is the largest single affordable offshore wind power project in China, and the largest offshore wind power project in the north.
The U1 site of 900,000 kW offshore wind power project of NEC is located in the south sea area of Lushan City, Shandong Province, with a sea area of 143 square kilometers. The project is built in two phases according to the principle of “overall design, intensive saving and innovation leading”, installing 106 sets of 8.5 MW units, sharing a 1,000 MW 220 kV offshore booster station and an onshore centralized control center, and sharing a common transmission line.
The project adopts modular pre-assembled design and manufacture of the largest modularized booster station in China, which shortens the construction period by 60 days and saves 20% of the construction cost; the 66kV collector system suitable for large-capacity units of offshore wind power is fully implemented, which saves the area of about 190 hectares of sea, and saves 180 million yuan of the project cost; the project also promotes the use of the company's self-developed products in terms of production safety.
The first phase of the 450 MW project was put into operation on November 17, 2023, and the second phase of the 450 MW project completed the first batch of 144.5 MW connected to the grid on September 9, 2024, and the full capacity was connected to the grid on October 26th. After the whole project is completed and put into operation, it can provide the society with about 2.55 billion kWh of clean electricity annually.
Up to now, the State Power Investment in Lu offshore wind power has realized “four years, four cast”, the installed capacity advantage further increase, the industry leading advantage further highlight, for large-scale development and construction of offshore wind power base to play a demonstration role in driving.
