Gansu Electric Group Changkai Company won the bid to undertake the development project of AC demagnetization switch for 1000MW unit excitation system
On November 20th, Changkai Company of Gansu Electric Group received the bid notification from China Three Gorges Corporation. With outstanding innovation capabilities, technical strength, and market influence, the company successfully won the bid to undertake the development project of AC demagnetization switch for the excitation system of Baihetan 1000MW unit.
The Baihetan Hydropower Station is the second cascade hydropower station developed in the lower reaches of the Jinsha River, located in Ningnan County, Sichuan Province and Qiaojia County, Yunnan Province. It is the world's largest and most technically difficult hydropower project under construction. Its main function is power generation, with comprehensive benefits such as flood control, sediment interception, improvement of downstream shipping conditions, and development of navigation in the reservoir area. The normal water level of the reservoir is 825 meters, with a corresponding storage capacity of 20.6 billion cubic meters. The Baihetan Hydropower Station is equipped with 16 domestically developed water turbine generators with the world's largest single unit capacity of one million kilowatts, with a total installed capacity of 16 million kilowatts.
It is reported that the company will focus on domestic substitution for the 1000MW unit excitation system AC demagnetization switch development project, and strive to solve the bottleneck technology of the generator AC side excitation circuit breaker. The product can be applied to the AC circuit protection of the excitation system of domestic giant hydropower units, ensuring the safe and stable operation of the unit.
