Sichuan's largest standalone PV plant (1.17GW) starts construction
On May 9th, the largest single photovoltaic project under construction in Sichuan Province, the Huadian New Energy Zhonglan 1.2 million kilowatt photovoltaic power generation project, officially started construction. The project is invested and constructed by China Huadian in the upstream area of the Jinsha River.
The Huadian New Energy Zhongza 1.2 million kilowatt photovoltaic power generation project is located in Zhongza Town, Batang County, Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, covering an area of about 25000 acres. It is a new energy power generation pilot project for the clean energy base in the upper reaches of the Jinsha River, which is a key construction project of the national "14th Five Year Plan". The photovoltaic project adopts the complementary development mode of agriculture and photovoltaics, and is equipped with two 220kV intelligent boosting stations and an intelligent operation and maintenance platform to achieve intelligent scheduling of water solar complementarity.
It is reported that the project is expected to be fully connected to the grid for power generation by the end of 2025. After completion, it can deliver 2.1 billion kilowatt hours of green electricity annually. The generated electricity will be coordinated with the electricity from the seven level hydropower station in the upper reaches of the Jinsha River through the power grid for water solar complementary joint dispatch, and the clean electricity will be "flashed" to the Central China region through the Jinshang Hubei ± 800 kV high-voltage direct current transmission project.
The complementary model of animal husbandry and solar energy is achieved through the organic combination of photovoltaic panels and the grasslands below, which has achieved dual improvements in economic and ecological benefits, forming a local assistance model of 'electricity generation on the photovoltaic panels, cattle grazing under the panels, surrounding landscaping, and industrial wealth for the people'. Yang Xiaodong, the project leader, introduced that this photovoltaic project can cumulatively drive more than 2000 local employment opportunities, increase per capita annual income by more than 3000 yuan, and create a new path of coordinated development between clean energy development and people's livelihood improvement.
